Liquor you would find at Dirty Laundry speakeasy bar in Hollywood

Dirty Laundry

Stop by this neighborhood watering hole for subterranean drinks and dancing in Hollywood. The space was the former speakeasy of Old Hollywood royalty Rudolph Valentino. Just like its sister bars down the block (Black Rabbit Rose, Madame Siam & No Vacancy), Dirty Laundry draws a youthful, trendy crowd for prohibition-era revelry. DJs come in to set the mood for dancing, often detouring from Top 40 to play throwback jams or alt dance tracks. It’s got the perfect touch of grit and grime in an atmosphere made for mingling. The line can get long on weekends, but it’s worth the wait for affordable drinks and a solid soundtrack.

Dirty Laundry Details:

🍔 Food:
No food in the venue, but go upstairs to the Crying Tiger walk-up window for bomb Thai food open Tuesday-Saturday.

🍸 Drinks:
Cheap, domestic beers are a great option along with well-made classic cocktails. You won’t find too many craft options, they stick to the basics.

🎶 Music:
Live DJs start at 10pm nightly and can play anything from 2000s hip hop to nu disco to deep house tracks. You may find Top 40 in the main room on weekends, while the side room may offer other dancey genres.

The 1920s speakeasy vibes are part of the basement hideaway aesthetic. Crowd is very Hollywood but very approachable. The space can get cramped easily, but taking a break on the smoking patio or escaping to the less crowded side room will help.

📸 Photo Ops:
No gimmicky Insta-ready photo spots here, but the “sex” light-up sign is an option. Lighting is super dim and cell service is limited for immediate posting.
