MAMA Shelter Details:
The downstairs restaurant is sure to impress with a delicious Pork Belly Fried Rice being the star of the menu. Their best Rooftop dish is Mama’s Famous Le Royale Burger, which is surprisingly bomb whether you get meat or Impossible meat. Upgrade to the Truffle Fries and you won’t be disappointed. And the kitchen closes at 10:30pm, FYI.
Drinks are beautiful on the inside and out. The Junglebird is an awesome choice for rum lovers and the “Mama Got Fired” is made with lychee for a refreshing twist. Cocktails are strong but beware of your check–Gratuity is auto-added along with a CA health insurance charge. Make sure you get an itemized receipt so you don’t over-tip.
They’ve got a great playlist of hip hop, top 40, throwbacks, and good background jams for your conversation.
It’s impossible not to have a good time on the MAMA Shelter Rooftop. Patterned daybeds and colorful umbrellas create the ultimate summertime aesthetic. The space is great for catching up with old friends or making some new ones. Arrive before 3pm on weekends to beat the crowd. The downstairs restaurant is quiet but inviting. The décor is beautiful and the quirky gumball machines and ceiling art are an added touch of pizazz.
📸 Photo Ops:
Definitely get a daybed shot on the rooftop and make sure to get the tropical palms and umbrellas in the background. Also, the screenplay-themed elevator is a notable backdrop.
😃 Happy Hour:
They’ve got discounted drinks and food seven days a week! Stop by Mon-Sun: 4pm-6pm. (Also $3 oysters on Wednesdays.)
