If you appreciate the energy of a good nightclub, Poppy in West Hollywood is known to be one of the best in the city. It sits along La Cienega Boulevard near other go-to nightlife spots like E.P. & L.P. and The Belmont. Poppy has a whimsical vibe of floral aesthetics and a vintage, library theme. There’s plenty of entertainment with dancers swinging from perch swings and Daft Punk-like LED stilt walkers giving you a dash of something different. Music wise, some of the most well-known artists in the world come in to perform live (Champagne Papi aka Drake is a regular). It’s an exclusive spot that’s difficult to get in if you don’t know anyone. But if you’re able to get on the list, it’s worth stopping by to experience one of the best nightclubs in West Hollywood.
You won’t find food inside, but the adjoining restaurant Petite Taqueria next door is the ideal pre-club dining spot.
No surprises here. Typical, expensive club drinks and bottle service options.
The music will depend on which day you stop by. Most nights you’ll hear hip hop or open format, but Wednesday is country night (yes that’s right, a country-themed nightclub in LA). If you go on a night when an artist is performing you’ll hear music similar to their genre.
Poppy is a pretty traditional Los Angeles club, where bottle service tables are the main event. You won’t find much mixing and mingling between tables–people tend to keep to their own group. Also, the crowd heavily skews female, which may be a downside for women with an eye out for a male love interest. The library theme makes for a sultry backdrop and the lounge entrance is a nice escape when you need a breather. Things can get packed and there’s no dancefloor, so not the best option for groups without a table.
📸 Photo Ops:
You’ll definitely want a pic under the floral archway entrance. It’s right when you walk in so get your camera ready! 🌸
