1. Desert 5 Spot

If cowboy vibes are your thing, you’ll definitely want to check out Desert 5 Spot in Hollywood. The indoor-outdoor space is themed like a California desert escape (the venue is literally named after a desert flower), and sits perched at the top of tommie Hollywood. You can catch live Americana and country music along with a taco station that’s surprisingly bomb.

2. Lemon Grove

You can find this Hollywood hidden gem by heading to the rooftop terrace of The Aster Members Club and Hotel. The chic lounge offers 360-degree views of Hollywood along with live DJs on weekends. No need to be a member to take advantage of Lemon Grove, a dazzling Los Angeles rooftop bar.

3. E.P. & L.P.

A staple in West Hollywood, E.P. & L.P. is one of the best bars in LA to enjoy cocktails with a rooftop view. The prime location along La Cienega and Melrose makes it an ideal meeting point for toasting drinks with friends from around the city. Weekends can get especially busy, but the day drinking vibes are where it’s at. Stop in during happy hour to get the most bang for your buck under the sun.

10. MAMA Shelter

Every Los Angeles local knows MAMA Shelter in Hollywood is one of the top rooftop bars for day drinking. 12. Onyx Rooftop at The Beacon

Note: Onyx Rooftop is closed for renovation as of December 2023. Expect their rebranded concept The Coco Club to open soon!

Most importantly though, its crown jewel Onyx Rooftop is truly a hidden gem that’s even unfamiliar to a lot of LA locals. Take a vintage elevator ride up to the top floor for impeccable views of the ocean. Coming for the sunset is essential, as people line up with their phones to catch a shot of the unmatched sherbet-colored skies.
