Te’kila Hollywood is like the North Star that lights up the somewhat grimey Hollywood Boulevard strip that surrounds it. This dive bar/restaurant offers an indoor-outdoor space, a solid selection of decent Mexican food, and most importantly, Taco Tuesday. And Margarita Monday. And Fajita Thursdays. Factoring in all those extremely important points, it becomes hard to resist a chill night out with friends at Te’kila Hollywood. You won’t find craft cocktails here. However, you also won’t break the bank. Enjoy getting five margs deep without a care in the world.

This is Los Angeles. We know there’s quality Mexican food on every corner. While Te’kila’s menu isn’t anything to write home about, it is pretty good comfort food. You’ll find all the Mexican cantina favorites like tacos, nachos, burritos, etc. The wings and enchiladas are also crowd favorites.
Margaritas are the highlight–there are literally dozens to choose from. Strawberry and Mango are standouts to add for a $2 upgrade. You can also get a pitcher for a decent price. They do tequila flights as well if the night takes you in that direction.
They have an ongoing video playlist of throwback hip hop and dance music with a few new tracks thrown in. The videos can be a little distracting at times but mostly make for a good conversation piece. They also have DJs on weekend nights.
Te’kila has a sports bar vibe minus the sports (unless it’s a big game day–they do have TVs). The space is Mexican-themed of course, with tin ceilings, a terracotta tile bar top, and unique artwork throughout. The vibe can be cozy on weekdays with mostly locals and groups of friends or dates. If you go on a weekend night, be prepared for Hollywood Boulevard shenanigans. Also, they can get busy for Taco Tuesday so arriving before dinner prime time is best.
📸 Photo Ops:
Their draw is more “cheap drinks” than “Instagram backdrop.” Not much stands out for photos. However, the Gigante Grand Cadillac margarita is comically large and good for a fun pic.
😃 Happy Hour:
While they used to be known for their daily happy hour, it unfortunately hasn’t been in effect for a while. RIP to the Margarita Monday/Happy Hour crossover of the century…
