Los Angeles is known to have an obsession with tacos. Most Angelenos can’t go much longer than a week without indulging in the classic, Mexican staple. Taco Tuesday in Los Angeles is a weekly event with destinations across the city offering up specials in celebration of, well, Tuesday. Pollo, carne asada, and even plant-based proteins are all on the menu to satisfy your cravings.

While the pandemic unfortunately robbed us of some of our favorite go-to spots, there are still places committed to attracting starving patrons for a Tuesday night of feasting. Te’kila Hollywood


The divey Te’kila Hollywood located smack dab in the center of Hollywood Boulevard is known for its lively atmosphere and comfort Mexican food. Their taco Tuesday special offers $2 chicken, asada steak, and carnitas tacos (ordered in sets of 3). You’ll have to buy a drink to unlock the special, but who in their right mind wouldn’t pair their tacos with a margarita?

El Tejano


Head to El Tejano to grub in North Hollywood for an affordable Taco Tuesday that’s worth way more than the price. Known for being a hot spot to watch the big game, you can also dig in for their delicious street tacos. Choose from chicken tinga, carnitas, ground beef, or potato–or try them all! Don’t forget to also take advantage of their daily special of buy one drink and get the second for $2.

Mezcalero DTLA


This delicious spot Downtown serves up mouth-watering Pork Carnitas, Chicken Tinga, Beef Barbacoa & Jackfruit Tinga tacos. Hot tip–they’ve also got a daily happy hour with $2 street tacos from 4-7pm.

El Cholo


With locations in neighborhoods like Koreatown, Downtown and Santa Monica, El Cholo has been a classic destination for Mexican food in Los Angeles since they opened more than a century ago in 1923. They don’t list pricing for their Taco Tuesday specials, but it includes filet mignon, mahi mahi, and sirloin tacos al carbon.

Pink Taco


Stop by this go-to destination on Sunset Boulevard to taste their signature pink tacos (yes, they’re actually pink). Pink Taco is on the upper end of taco Tuesday pricing, but it’ll be worth it to taste some iconic Mexican food in West Hollywood. They also offer Tuesday specials for apps and drinks.

Trejo’s Tacos


Trejo’s Tacos have become an institution in Los Angeles thanks to their celebrity owner Danny Trejo. You can enjoy their award-winning tacos for a discount at their locations in Hollywood, La Brea & Santa Monica. Their specials include selections of both meat and vegan mini tacos that you can dig into no matter what your diet plan requires. If you’re seeking cheap eats and a buzz, Fiesta Cantina is a divey spot along West Hollywood’s LGBTQ+ strip of bars that will do the trick. In addition to their two-for-one drinks daily happy hour, they have all-you-can-eat tacos all day on Tuesdays. Yes you heard me right, an unlimited taco buffet. Come hungry and get ready to be rolled out along Santa Monica Boulevard once you’re done.

Chica’s Tacos


This sunshine-y taqueria has locations in Beverly Grove, Miracle Mile, and Culver City for you to chow down on some Mexican eats. While it does seem Chicas Tacos has Taco Tuesday, it’s unclear what the specials are specifically. Stop by one of their locations to check it out for yourself! Hot tip: their Miracle Mile location is inside of All Season’s Brewery, creating the perfect mashup of tacos and cerveza.

Cabo Cantina Hollywood


Owned by the same people as Fiesta Cantina, you’ll find a similar energy at this divey, Hollywood Boulevard locale. Cabo Cantina has got all-you-can-eat tacos and a solid happy hour if you’re also craving festive drinks. They’re known for being messy and college party-esque, so just don’t expect a tame dining experience.

Vamos Vamos Bar


While this Santa Monica spot specializes in nachos and margaritas, they’ve also got tacos worth a visit. Their Taco Tuesday special includes two tacos of your choice plus a shot of tequila. What are you waiting for? Vamos Vamos!

Tu Madre


So technically Tu Madre doesn’t have an official Taco Tuesday special. However, they’ve got $2 street tacos on the menu all week long! Options include Chipotle Tomatillo Chicken, Rotisserie Chicken, KBBQ Braised Beef, and Brisket. They also have “Feliz Hour” Monday-Friday from 3-6pm, where their street tacos are $1 and plant-based options are $2. They’re located in WeHo, Santaa Monica, Los Feliz, and Westwood (they unfortunately don’t do happy hour at that location).



If you live in Southern California, there’s a good chance you live in very close proximity to a Kalavares location. They’ve sprung up all around the Southland offering party vibes, affordable drinks, and solid Mexican food. You can dig in on Tuesdays with their 99 cent tacos all day at every location!

Taqueria El Poblano


Dish on the signature green sauce at Taqueria El Poblano, known for their authentic Tijuana-inspired eats in LA County. Take a drive to either of their locations in Compton for cheap tacos and $2 Agua Frescas to wash it down. There’s lots of Mexican food in Los Angeles but if you’re craving the real deal, you won’t be disappointed here.

The Red Chickz


If you’re looking for tacos with a twist, The Red Chickz have got something up their sleeve.
